Half Term Break
NOTICES:
Safety of our Students: It is important for the safety of our students and local residents that all parents who drive to school in the mornings and afternoons are adhering to the road rules. We ask you all to consider the following: Do not speed on our surrounding roads as many families walk to and from
school and this compromises their safety.
Do not park on the zig zag lines at the front of the school as this impacts on our students safely crossing the road.
Do not park across the driveways of our neighbours, as this will disrupt access to their private property. As a school we suggest walking or catching public transport to school to where possible. If you have to drive, there is often ample parking spaces a little further away from the school, which may also alleviate the congestion and stress of the morning. We thank you for your cooperation on this matter and your consideration of our local community.
Equipment - Parents please ensure your child comes into school with all the equipment and food they will need for the day. The front office will not be responsible for taking things to classroom as this is disruptive to children's learning.Reminder to Parents No bicycles or scooters
are to be ridden in the school gates, this includes when coming to collect from after school clubs. No climbing is permitted on the bicycle racks.
To our Middle School Community,
Thank you for your continued support as we move forward into the Autumn term. All of our year groups have started working on a wellbeing focused project with the essential question ‘What’s my Story?’. Working with their coaches, the pupils will write their own stories envisioning how they would like their journey through the Middle School years to play out. These will be published in a whole school ‘What’s my Story?’ series. Supporting your child by discussing their aspirations and reflecting upon previous experiences they’ve had, as well as sharing your own stories of your time at school, both positive and challenging (and how you move through these!) will be a fantastic support through the project.
Celebrating AchievementsTwo of our Year 6 pupils have had some amazing experiences worthy of recognition outside of school! Adil has started his modelling career and has appeared in 3 different ad campaigns already! Adam has been performing in the West End production of ‘School of Rock’. We congratulate both students on their
fantastic achievements! If any members of our Middle School community need newsletter recognition, please get in touch with Miss Kyrk and Miss Silvain to share your achievements!
RoboticsYear 5 are in their second week of their robotics project entitled ‘Could Robots Protect our World?’ We have been creating robots that fulfill different functions using the Lego ‘WeDo’ sets. Our construction skills have been challenged and our creative coding skills have been stretched!
HairsprayAuditions for this year's musical 'Hairspray' for Year 5 - Year 13 will take place on Thursday 27th September!- 3:15pm - 5:00pm for Middle School.- 4:30pm - 5:45pm for Secondary and Sixth Form.Letters to sign up for auditions, and details of how to prepare can be collected by students on Monday.
MacMillan Coffee Morning We are participating in 'The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning' on Monday 1st October to help raise funds for people facing cancer. Last year alone we contributed to raising over £27 million and together we can make this another successful year. We will be
hosting our coffee morning from 8am to 9am in the Primary hall, and we would love to see everyone drop in for a coffee, a tea, a piece of cake or a chat to help support this worthy cause! If you can donate any baked goods (which are nut free!) for the event please can you contact either Mrs Drummond or Miss Kyrk.

to be difficult to build your confidence to have those important conversations, get to know your child’s online world and learn where to go for help and advice. The workshop will take place at School 21 on Tuesday 6th November 2018. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity! Make sure you RSVP by emailing mdrummond@school21.org.uk
