Connect, conserve and explore nature with NaturallyGC

We're so lucky to have an abundance of nature at our doorstep, with the beach, rainforest and all of the native and exotic animals, plants and species within arm's reach.

Connect with your community, conserve our environment and explore nature with the 2021-2022 NaturallyGC program. There are more than 800 free and low-cost nature-based and environment-themed workshops and events for all ages; including wildlife shows, tree planting, kids holiday programs, coastal education, native gardening, nature photography and more. There are some exciting new activities this year, including NaturallyGC Wildlife Fest, our wildlife conservation film screening and a range of engaging presentations on Fauna of the Coast.

Looking for ways to get involved in your environment?

  • Become a citizen scientist. Our projects provide an opportunity to increase scientific knowledge. Community members share and contribute to data monitoring and collection programs. By volunteering, you can gain hands-on experience.
  • Help plant native trees for wildlife. Did you know Gold Coast is home to more than 1,730 species of local native plants? Native plants attract native birds, butterflies and frogs to your garden, as well as provide a food source and habitat for local fauna.
  • Go on a guided bushwalk and discover our natural areas and sustainable nature-based recreation opportunities.
  • Involve the whole family - we have activities that help kids learn about nature through walks, activities and story reading, and our NaturallyGC Junior Wild Defenders program empowers kids and young people to take action to preserve nature.
