Students are required to wear school uniform WITH a Christmas themed jumper. If you do not wish for your child to wear a Christmas jumper, they are permitted to wear a brightly coloured jumper instead. THIS IS NOT AN OWN CLOTHES DAY. A charitable donation of £1 is suggested for 'Save The Children' Charity. Festival of ChristmasThis week, Reception have continued learning about Christmas and finding out more about how it is celebrated. We built our own churches and even created stained glass windows which look fantastic around the classroom! On Thursday we visited the local church to find out how Christian people prepare for Christmas and of course, we had a wonderful morning performing in the Festival of Light! Hanging around with Bats! This week Year 1 have been using non-fiction books to research information about nocturnal animals with a particular focus on bats. We have spent time sharing our knowledge with our peers, rehearsing our skills focusing on how to talk as an expert. Did you know that bats live in groups and that the smallest bat is the bumble bee bat, whilst the largest bat is the flying fox bat? Be blown away by our knowledge about echolocation and other interesting information next week at the exhibition! Draft your CraftThis week Year 2 have been using their drafts to create their final illustrations and have written or typed up their stories ready for exhibition. It's been a challenging week of re-drafting but the pupils have shown grit and craftsmanship and have all created beautiful pieces of work. We went to ZapZpace on Thursday for a fun-filled morning of bouncing with the whole year group. We had a great time!
