Our team visited the Centre for Advanced Medical Simulation at NAIT recently, and learnt about their cool simulation labs, advanced equipment and life-like models that can respond to questions and deliver a baby! To me, innovation in health means providing improved, efficient, effective, optimized services/technologies to meet the current needs. 2. In your opinion, what is the state of the health innovation ecosystem in Alberta, Canada and globally?There is a lot of scope for health innovation in Alberta right now. Alberta's new $6M investment for lab innovations, opens up a lot of opportunities for innovators. But health innovation is a slow adoption, it takes years to adopt a new service/technology, it's important to provide innovators with the right resources to overcome the barriers faced in the healthcare innovation space. 3. What motivated you to join the Health Innovation Hub?Being an engineer with a vision to contribute to healthcare innovation, it was crucial for our team to have access to mentors, and the right resources and be well connected with the health community. Joining the Health Innovation Hub made everything possible, it connected us to amazing mentors, and community and provided lots of resources catered for student entrepreneurs.4. How would you describe yourself in one sentence?I am an inquisitive engineer who tries to find an innovative solution to every difficult problem.5. What is the one thing that you are most excited about right now?Being a first-time entrepreneur, I am really excited to be able to work in the health innovation space and have the opportunity to make a large impact. Looking forward to developing a new technology that will be aligned with the unique needs of the Canadian healthcare system.
