November at the Imagine Possibilities Center
We have been reflecting on gratitude lately... and we have some extra special things to be grateful for this month! We are so grateful for our wonderful community of families, partners, and the amazing participants at the Imagine Possibilities Center who remind us to find the joy in each day and that anything is possible!
We are grateful for the amazing volunteers from Intel who took down a section of fence that has been blocking our progress on a project making the Sensory Garden even more wheelchair accessible and then made significant progress building the concrete wheelchair accessible path!
We also had a huge group of hardworking volunteers from the local Latter Day Saints Ward again come and rake leaves- which is a huge project considering how big our land is and how many giant, old oaks we have! |

We are also grateful for our partners in the Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District who generously awarded us a grant earlier this month to cover the cost of installing a water efficient sprinkler system to keep the Sensory Garden healthy during summer heat waves. It will also allow our amazing Horticulture Specialist, Peg, more time to run empowering and fun programs in the Sensory Garden.

We are beyond grateful for the generous grant from the Jack R. and Mary B. Dant Special Disability Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation and the Jackson Gardner Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation which will allow us to furnish our Sensory Room with therapeutic equipment to better meet our participants wide range of sensory needs. The Oregon Community Foundation’s mission is to improve lives for all Oregonians through the power of philanthropy.
You may remember that last month's newsletter featured a story about the wonderful occupational therapy interns from Pacific University who worked with our Program Director to develop training materials and a presentation about how to best use our Sensory Room. In that training we discussed how we would use the equipment we were seeking funding for. We are very grateful that the Oregon Community Foundation's grant will allow us to obtain the equipment we have been seeking.
This equipment will transform our Sensory Room into a state of the art resource allowing us to provide the highest quality Sensory Therapy Integration programming! We could not be more grateful for the generosity of our funders!

This year we are fundraising to support everything that makes our community inclusion activities possible- such as van maintenance and repairs, which cost us thousands, and which are key in providing the outings and opportunities that participants love so much. We kicked off our end of year fundraising this week with Giving Tuesday. Some of our talented artists helped us brainstorm program supplies we are in need of while making this art project for our bulliten board.

We could also really use gift cards to local gardening stores for our Horticulture Therapy programming and a "group nonprofit membership" to the Oregon Zoo or OMSI for fun, educational, group outings!
