Drone Search Finds Missing Man
A Surf Life Saving NSW drone has been used to successfully locate a missing man in bushland at Port Macquarie, demonstrating the effectiveness of the technology for search and rescue applications in a variety of settings.
2021 Lifesaving Development Camp
In April, SLSNSW held its first Lifesaving Development Camp for surf lifesavers aged 16-21 years. The live-in program focused on developing and enhancing the knowledge and skills of young people, while at the same time preparing them to take on more responsibility in their patrol teams, their own clubs, and the wider community.
Mum's the Word on Patrol
A small south coast surf club believes it may have something no other club has - five mother and daughter combinations on the same patrol.
Paddle Out for Tim Kirkby, Freshwater SLSC
The family of Tim Kirkby wish to advise there will be a paddle out and scattering of Tim’s ashes on Sunday 16 May at 7am, Freshwater Beach. Members are invited to attend the ceremony, including the paddle out, to celebrate and remember Tim’s life. Afterwards there will be a gathering in the club’s Freshwater Room.
The Kirkby family would like to extend the invitation to all members within the SNB Branch and the wider NSW lifesaving community.

The 24 Hour Row supporting Gotcha4Life is back for 2021. This year surf clubs are encouraged to join in the 24-hour event on 14-15 August. Sign your club up now to be part of the event. It's a great opportunity to engage your community ahead of the new season and anyone can participate.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
