NEAS Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training, General Department of Education Testing and Accreditation

In a development that will excite NEAS' 17 Vietnamese English language teaching members, NEAS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education and Training's General Department of Education Testing and Accreditation.

"This agreement opens new opportunities, partnerships and pathways between Australian and Vietnamese ELT providers, and will provide a key point of differentiation for NEAS' Quality Endorsed ELT centres in Vietnam, and in one of our region's fastest growing economies" stated NEAS' CEO Mark Raven when announcing the signing.

GDETA determines the criteria for the evaluation of education programmes, accrediting organisations, organising professional training of institutional and national quality assurance and accreditation experts, and strengthens international cooperation in the field of quality assurance and accreditation in Vietnam.

'Why bother with quality assurance - surely accreditation is enough?'

NEAS CEO Mark Raven will be presenting the commercial benefits of its Stakeholder Driven Feedback model to the Australian ELICOS sector at the upcoming English Australia Conference in Brisbane.

Come and visit Mark in the Moreton Room on Friday 25 September from 12.00 - 12.45pm.

NEAS Presents to Chinese Delegation

A recent delegation of Chinese institutional TAFE partners spent three days in Sydney, undertaking professional development through the TAFE Directors Association.  This visit provided an opportunity for NEAS to present concepts related to the NEAS stakeholder-driven model of Quality Assurance, to Chinese educational leaders.

"China is positioning itself to be a gloval leader in English Language Teaching," stated Mark Raven "and it is critical that we are actively engaged in the Quality Assurance dialogue with our key trading partner."

He went on to add that, "English is taught very differently in China, although our focus needs to remain oriented towards maintining a quality student experience."
