Early registration ends soon for FDM at the Cleveland Clinic - Module 2 (Spine - Intro)

FDM at Cleveland Clinic

Hello everyone,

FDM Academy is excited to be returning to Cleveland Clinic August 25-27, 2017 for FDM Module 2 (Spine).  Early registration ends July 26th, so sign up now!  Module 2 is an introduction to FDM, as well as extensive hands-on training so you can use the principles in clinic immediately after the class. Thanks to Paris Kharbat, DO, at Cleveland Clinic and all those that worked so hard to put this together!

Use the code EARLY10 to save 10% on registration for FDM Academy's Spine course at Cleveland Clinic here: http://www.thefdmacademy.com/registration-cleveland-clinic-lyndh
(Cleveland Clinic staff can use the code CC100EARLY; and University Hospital staff can use the code UH100EARLY)

As always, we appreciate you forwarding this email on to your colleagues that would be (or should be) interested in FDM.

Thanks!

What you'll learn with FDM:
FDM teaches theory and technique applicable to most musculoskeletal conditions and many medical conditions.  It is based on translating the subtle, and often subconscious hand gestures patients use when describing their symptoms.  FDM is a model of both assessment and treatment. It is patient-centered, and the only model that focuses on interpreting HOW a patient describes that symptoms with their hand gestures. This pattern recognition of patients' hand gestures is essentially another language that the medical community has been previously unaware of. Practitioners using FDM can have more options in their differential diagnosis, and less need for imaging, labs, and medication.  FDM incorporates new Pain Neuroscience and also provides a framework to develop new techniques that speed return to function.  Almost all manual techniques, whether they are joint mobilization, joint manipulation, OMM, HVLA, or soft-tissue/fascial techniques, will fit into FDM. The end goal of the treatment is restoring range of motion, function, and reducing pain and fear of movement in the patient.

Module 1 and 2 are introduction classes and can be taken in either order. Module 1 covers ankle, knee, and shoulder.  Module 2 covers spine.  Module 3 covers hands, feet, elbow, hip, and head, and is not an introduction course, so it can be taken after either a Module 1 or a Module 2 (not necessary to take both Module 1 and 2 prior to Module 3).

FDM is open to DO, MD, NP, PA-C, PT, PTA, OT, DC, ATC, ND, DPM, DDS, DMD, and certified Structural Integration practitioners (Rolfers).

FDM Testimonial -

Last weekend I took the FDM Module 1 Workshop at the Cleveland Clinic. First thing Monday morning I successfully treated 3 patients, one patient for knee pain and a Lumbar Refolding, another patient for knee pain, headaches, and Cranial post-herpetic neuralgia, and the third patient for Bilateral Neuropathy from the knees down. This particular patient reported daily pain/paresthesias that were severely limiting to her IADL’s keeping her from walking, shopping, and generally doing what she loves. After an obvious recognition of her cylinders and 2 minutes of treatment, she stood up with no pain. She looked at me, tears filling her eyes, and joyously recounted a story of being in a park in Virginia and having a young girl run up to her while she was sitting on a bench telling her that, “God will heal you of all of your problems” and that what I had just done was a huge part of this healing.

Now, I’m not one for Miracles, but I wasn’t going to crush her spirits. I thanked her for the kind words, and gently explained the science behind Fascia and her particular condition. As she gave me a hug before leaving the exam room, all I could think was that the real Miracle was that an MD with absolutely no training in Manipulation and “Dead Thumbs”(as described by Dr. Capistrant) could provide such stunning results literally 24 hours after his first workshop.
