Click here 16 January 2020Councils Unite to Assist Bush Fire Recovery Efforts Strathfield Council has joined forces with the Office of Local Government and other metro councils in bush fire recovery efforts. Council has pledged significant resources to assist bush fire affected councils with clean up, damage assessment, safety and health services, parks, engineering and service delivery for residents. Council has committed for the long haul. You can find more information here. The recent bush fires have devastated these communities. Council is determined to provide every assistance possible to enable a swift recovery. Lunar New Year 2020 Join us as we celebrate the Lunar New Year! Festivities will feature a Lion Dance, live performances and lantern making! Look out for Caishen who will be handing out red packets and wishing everyone well for the new year. Women’s Hub – Business Administration Certificate Three This nationally accredited course is for women looking to enter the workforce in an administrative role in a variety of industries. Participants will gain skills using Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel. When: Fridays 14 February – June, 9.30am – 2.30pm Help Fight Leaf Litter Blowing leaf litter into gutters causes not only contamination but also creates blockages in our drains, resulting in fines. Collect your leaves and place them thoughtfully in your compost or green waste bins. Movies in the Park Escape on a magical carpet ride this Saturday with a free screening of Aladdin (2019). Enjoy a night out under the stars at Strathfield Park by the rotunda. Screenings commence after sunset. Volunteer at Lunar New Year Do you have some free time up your sleeve? Strathfield Council is seeking event volunteers for Lunar New Year on Saturday 25 January. All you need is a can-do attitude and a smile! Mobile phone detection cameras Mobile phone detection cameras have been in operation on NSW roads since 1 December. Warning letters will be issued for the first three months. Following this period, penalties of five demerit points and a $344 fine ($456 in a school zone) will apply.
