Vale Graeme "The Zom" Knox: "Listen up, listen up, listen up!"
There would hardly be a surfboat rower in the country who would not have heard these words over the PA at a carnival. Sadly, legend rower and surfboat commentator ‘Zom’ passed away after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday 27 May.
“Mega Men” Rescue 16-Year-Old Boy at Coledale Beach, Illawarra
An off-duty surf lifesaver is being hailed as a hero after saving the life of a 16-year-old boy who was caught in large swell at Coledale Beach late Wednesday afternoon.
New Coronavirus Updates and Resources for SLSNSW Members
Sport Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport have developed a Return to Sport Toolkit which includes a suite of resources to help sporting organisations get ready to recommence training, competitions and programs in a safe, responsible and low risk manner.
Please note that the nationwide Return to Sport Toolkit is not currently endorsed by the NSW Government or the NSW Office of Sport, but its release has been acknowledged as providing general guidance for a return to sport and a useful 'planning base'.
Surf Life Saving NSW continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic through official sources including the Australian Government Department of Health, NSW Health and NSW Sport. We will continue to distribute updated information to our members through email and on our dedicated Coronavirus webpage.

To help celebrate the 40th anniversary of women as active surf lifesavers, we are calling for stories, photos and video of trailblazing women in the surf lifesaving movement. July 1 2020 marks the 40th anniversary of women's involvement in active surf lifesaving duties.
This year NSW Branches are hosting their Awards of Excellence ceremonies online! Get your nominations in and join the celebrations.

Envirobank Off Peak Season Update
With the easing of restrictions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Envirobank will resume collections with the commencement of their off-peak season roster from 1 June 2020. Envirobank will contact clubs directly to confirm their collection days as per the new roster. If you require an urgent collection or have any questions please contact Carley or phone 0499 221 521.
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
