Service, Stew and Fellowship. See what's coming up in the lodge. No Images? Click here Every year, our lodge holds a brunswick stew sale to support our program of cheerful service, fellowship, and support camping traditions throughout the council. The brunswick stew is $7.50 a quart and makes an excellent winter meal. Both youth and adults are encouraged to sell brunswick stew, but there are prizes for the top three youth who sell the most stew. The prizes are: 1st place: $80 trading post and scout shop gift card 2nd place: $40 trading post and scout shop gift card 3rd place: $25 trading post and scout shop gift card Check on the website often to see if you are in the top 5 and how your competition stands. In addition to personal prizes, there is also a prize to the chapter that sells the most stew; so get out, sell stew, and encourage your friends to as well. Stew orders will be available for pickup during Fall Fellowship on November 8-10 at Cherokee Scout Reservation. Please make sure you have all your money by then so we can give you your stew. We also need help making the stew on Thursday evening and Friday. If you are able and would like to help cooking or stirring, please email lodge70@lodge70.org to sign up for a shift. To find out more about stew, please follow the link below. If you have an order to record, please follow the link below and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Orders should be submitted by November 1st so we can have an accurate picture of how much stew is needed. Support our lodge program of service, fellowship, and tradition by supporting your hunger by buying the goo that’s good for you. Since our order is a brotherhood of cheerful service, our lodge holds a day of service for an organization in the community. This year, our lodge is helping the town of Pleasant Garden. The day of service will be held on November 2nd. More information will be coming soon, but be sure to mark it on your calendar. Fall Fellowship is an opportunity to celebrate our lodge’s accomplishments over the past year and look ahead to the new year. Unlike Inductions weekends, Fall Fellowship is entirely fun. Saturday is filled with fun activities, followed by a banquet held to recognize our accomplishments and everyone who made them possible. The Saturday night banquet is also where we hand out the First Year Arrowman Award. Our theme this year for Fall Fellowship is Frontiersman. Some of the activities include:
Our lodge is also holding a Dutch Oven competition, which will be held Saturday night. If you wish to enter the competition to become Tsoiotsi Tsogalii’s Cast Iron Champion, please follow the link below and fill out the form. You will be responsible for bringing everything (Dutch Oven, Ingredients, Serving Utensils) except the charcoal. Even if you did not enter, you still get to taste the entries during cracker barrel Saturday night. In addition to the fun activities, we will be holding brotherhood conversion for those eligible. To be eligible for brotherhood conversion, you must have completed a brotherhood conference and have had at least 6 months pass since your inductions (so, if you were inducted at the Spring 2019 Inductions or earlier). For more information about brotherhood conversions, follow the link below and find brotherhood conversions. Join us on November 8th-10th at Cherokee Scout Reservation for a weekend of fun, food and fellowship, as we celebrate our lodge’s accomplishments. The cost of attending is $25, which includes 5 meals, cracker barrels and all the activities. More information and registration can be found by following the link below. The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is the premier event of the Order of the Arrow. It is the Order of the Arrow’s equivalent to a jamboree. Over 7,000 Arrowmen from across the country are expected to participate in this 2020 event. The event will be held on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The dates of the event are August 3 to August 8, 2020. Our lodge is planning on taking 50 plus members to this event. We will go by bus, leaving on August 1 or 2 and returning on August 9. National is asking that each Lodge have one youth for each adult that attends. This 1:1 ratio should allow everyone who wants to attend to be able to attend. The cost to attend NOAC depends on how many arrowmen from our lodge are able to attend but should be between $750 and $900 per person. In order to know how many arrowmen are interested in going, we are asking that you fill out an application with a $100 deposit as soon as you can. Don’t miss this opportunity to make new friends and have the experience of a lifetime. In order to be an active lodge member and attend lodge events, you must pay your annual dues. Dues run from January 1st to December 31st. Payments can be made online, at lodge events, or at the council service center during normal business hours. Membership fees are $15. If you were inducted during the Summer or Fall Induction Weekend, you have already paid dues for the following year. If you were inducted during the Spring Inductions weekend, you have paid dues for the remainder of the year. For questions about your membership, email lodge70@lodge70.org. Join the Administration team! Administration is responsible for check-in and making sure food and medical assistance is at every event. If you join the Administration team, you would help ensure that all the behind-the-scenes runs smoothly; from putting together packets during inductions weekends to serving on cook crew, Admin team is a fun way to get involved.
