Hi
Google's decision to mark non-HTTPS websites "not secure" takes effect very soon.
Many people think "We don’t require SSL as we don't sell online.”, however, SSL certificates are not only for e-commerce websites.
Google Chrome, which is used by over 50% of people browsing the web, now shows sites as insecure when people are completing a simple contact form on a non-HTTPS website.
When they make their next change, and your website doesn't have an SSL certificate, your site will display as insecure!
By enabling SSL, your website will be given the HTTPS label—giving your visitors the confidence that you've made their security a priority.
If you're working through the process yourself. You'll need to organise the following...
- Order your SSL certificate
- Configure your SSL certificate
- Change the links on your site and WordPress URL to HTTPS
- Change all links within your site to make sure they are HTTPS
- Make sure there is no insecure content on your site
- Change your Google analytics to show HTTPS address
Google is likely to make this change within the next two weeks.
All our websites we design for our customers are fully maintained by us and will have the added security measures in place.
