Last Chance to Submit your Application for the Andy Burroughs Young Investigator Award - DEADLINE:  09.00hrs on Monday 8th August 2016.

In honour of the late Professor Andrew Burroughs, the BASL committee launched the ‘Andy Burroughs Young Investigator Award’, associated with the BLTG Transplant Meeting.
The award winner will deliver the prize lecture at the third BLTG Meeting which is being held at Manchester Central, Manchester on 6/7th  September 2016, and will also receive free registration to the meeting and £1,000.

Eligibility
The prize is awarded to young investigators, scientific or clinical, who are in training or within 2 years of taking up consultant positions (or equivalent).

Applications
To apply, please send one A4 sheet outlining the research and another A4 sheet listing up to 5 related publications.

BASL NURSE FORUM ANNUAL MEETING  - this will take place on Thursday 8th September in parallel to the main BASL programme on the second day and this year has a comprehensive programme with 14 varied speakers. The day will provide a broad range of topics for all nurses working within hepatology.

BASL BLTG School of Transplantation - 6th September 2016 - BOOKING NOW OPEN

Venue: Manchester Central, Manchester

This two day event offers an excellent platform for trainees with lectures delivered by carefully selected leading speakers from the UK. The topics covered include liver transplant, acute liver failure, surgical aspects of liver transplantation and post-transplant management.

The programme compliments the BASL British Liver Transplant Group (BLTG) Meeting, which is taking place at the same venue, with great opportunities for interaction.

European Club Liver Cell Biology 7th edition - 6th - 8th October

Venue: Sunningdale Park, Ascot, Berkshire.

The European Club for Liver Cell Biology (ECLCB) meetings are held every 2-3 years and the goal of the meetings is to allow more junior physicians and scientists working in the field of cell biology and pathophysiology of the liver to share data, experience and reagents, as well as create new networks for international collaborations.

Seventh BHIVA Conference for the Management of HIV/Hepatitis Co-infection in collaboration with BVHG - 12th October

The British HIV Association (BHIVA), in collaboration with the British Viral Hepatitis Group (BVHG), is to hold a one-day national conference to bring together those directly involved in the care of HIV-infected patients co-infected with hepatitis, as well as those who have a clinical or research interest in the epidemiology, natural history or basic science of viral hepatitis.

The conference will take place at QEII Centre in London.

MCA Symposium, ‘Alcohol and health harm; what can doctors, nurses and other professionals do? - RCS London - 16th November

The 2016 Medical Council on Alcohol (MCA) Symposium will take place on 16th November at the Royal College of Surgeons, London.

10th Australasian Viral Hepatitis Conference, Gold Coast Australia - 29th September to 1st October

The Australasian Viral Hepatitis Conference is the leading multidisciplinary Viral Hepatitis conference in Australasia. The conference is held biennially and was most recently held in Alice Springs 2014, Auckland 2012 and in Melbourne 2010.
