Click here Changing women’s sport, from playing field to board room Applying a modern prism to the great global sportsfest that is the Olympic Games can lead you down many paths. One of them will be questions about diversity. Another will be about how that diversity applies to women in sports’ leadership roles. If the Olympics reveals anything, it is how much progress we have made on these issues during the usual four-year cycle between the Games. This time, because of the pandemic, we have five years to reflect on. And thanks to research from Victoria University, we also have a notion of what progress Australia has made and how much further it needs to go. Date: 24-26 August 2021 Webinar series: Voice and choice for self-determination Decolonisation is an emotive issue and the process of unravelling past wrongs is complex and often gets stuck in the political debate. The interdependence of our society is now inescapable but those at the top can be blind to the solutions that work for everyone. We need to seek these solutions from within the Indigenous community and use money to facilitate relationships, close the divide and help Indigenous communities to thrive. Whilst not always comfortable, philanthropy needs to consider where its money has come from, where it is held, invested, and managed and how it is allocated and spent. In this webinar we will examine how philanthropy is and can respond to the call for self-determination and the tensions that exist within the system.
