Click here December 2019 Edition Raising the Competition Level of the Snowsports Program For many years, Wasatch Academy has provided an outstanding ski and snowboard program for students who want to spend winters hitting the slopes in addition to their academic pursuits. The program experienced a natural evolution this year with the development of an elite competitive program. Creating Art is a Very Individualized Process Whether stunning astrophotography, pinhole photography, ceramic designs, or painted self-portraits catch your eye, walking into the Studio Arts building quickly reveals the wide range of fine arts projects the students at Wasatch Academy are involved in. Exploring Cultural Differences and Commonalities Through India Partnerships In the three decades that Joseph Loftin has been the Head of School, Wasatch Academy has shared a long and rich history with India. Over the past two years, Wasatch Academy has begun cultivating partnerships with the G.D. Goenka World School (GDGWS) in Delhi and the Kasiga School in Dehradun. Wasatch Academy Robotics Program (WARP) competes at West High Competition Wasatch Academy competed at the First Tech Challenge robotics competition at West High School in Salt Lake City on December 6 and 7. While Wasatch Academy has had a thriving robotics team in the past, it has been several years since we last competed. Wasatch Alumna Makes the Best Bloody Mary Mix Marta Davis '97 wants you to have the best Bloody Mary in America. She is part of a trio that just launched a new Bloody Mary mix company: Three Sisters Bloody Mary Mix. National Honor Society Induction Wasatch Academy held its annual induction ceremony for student members of the National Honors Society (NHS) at Magleby's Grotto in Springville, Utah. The WA chapter welcomed 15 new and 10 returning members. Faculty Highlight: Sarah Dorian Hailing from Kansas and holding degrees from Vanderbilt University (BM – Cello Performance), University of Notre Dame (MM – Cello Performance and Literature), and Fort Hays State University (MSEd – Education), Music Department Head, Sarah Dorian brings her breadth of classical talent back to the Wasatch Academy music program. Winter Performing Arts Showcase The Winter Performing Arts Showcase has been an annual tradition at the school and provides students with a chance to share their talents that have been honed during the first semester. Young musicians and performers included pianists, guitarists, violinists, vocalists, and dancers.
