What is the best piece of advice you've received?

The best piece of advice I've received is "Learn, Earn, Return" from Mr. James Haslam II. On a recent visit to the Pilot headquarters in Knoxville, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Haslam and received some eye-opening advice. He advised the student leaders at the event to focus on learning, in school and after we graduate, to earn in our future careers, and then return to the people and institutions that help us become successful. This philosophy inspires him to continue giving back to the Haslam College of Business.

What's your favorite thing about being a Haslam student?

The best things about being a Haslam Student are the teachers and the facilities provided. Each person in the college, counselors to your professors, wants you to succeed and is making you ready for the real world. Plus, everyone is happy to answer your questions and point you to the best decision. Also, being a Haslam student, you get a lot of resources that prepare for presentations during job interviews. Your classmates and peers are always ready to help and show their volunteer spirit.
