Seasons greetings from all of us at Hydro Tasmania

In what has been a year of unprecedented challenges, we’ve been proud to support our communities and keep the lights on for Tasmania… and now we’re proud to keep a few more lights on. We would like to wish everyone a restful and joyous festive season.

Please note our offices will be closed from Thursday 24 December until Monday 4 January, but our teams will be keeping the power stations running.

Lake Cethana selected as preferred pumped hydro site

We’re excited to announce that Lake Cethana has been selected as our preferred pumped hydro site and will now progress to final feasibility assessment.

We welcomed the Prime Minister, Tasmanian Premier and Federal and State Energy Ministers to Trevallyn Power Station to announce a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two governments. The MOU outlines a shared path forward for progressing the new 1500MW interconnector Marinus Link and Battery of the Nation.

Powering the Hobart Hurricanes

We're excited to be sponsoring the Hobart Hurricanes and to see them off to such a flying start to the season.

As well as their great on-field performance they also do great work promoting sport and healthy lifestyles to young Tasmanians. The Hurricanes Holiday Programs for kids aged 5 – 11 are taking place in January across Tasmania.

Congratulations to our survey winner!

Elliot B. has scored 2 nights accommodation at Pedder Wilderness Lodge for participating in our visitor experience survey.

Thanks to the more than 500 people who completed the survey and provided valuable feedback on the experiences and facilities at our sites. This information helps us prioritise improvements.

If you missed out on having your say, don't worry, we will be seeking more site specific feedback in the new year... and we may even throw in more give-aways to sweeten the deal.
