NEAS' Board and Advisory Council meet at NEAS' AGM

This year's Annual General Meeting on October 22 was marked by a watershed event whereby the NEAS Board and NEAS Advisory Council collaborated and shared views of mutual interest and concern for the benefit of NEAS Quality Endorsed centres and their stakeholders.

"By combining passionate industry representatives and cross industry experts, NEAS has found the formula for responding to change and market challenges," stated NEAS CEO Mark Raven.

Attendance at the AGM was substantially higher than usual, marking sectoral interest in the direction of Australia's leading Quality Assurance agency in English Language Teaching.  The NEAS Board is Chaired by Denise Taylor, while the NEAS Advisory Council is Convened by Christine Bundesen AM.

NEAS' CEO Mark Raven presents at AIEC on QALEN and Care of Minors

This year's AIEC conference in Adelaide provided the English language teaching sector an opportunity to reflect on what has been an exciting and dynamic chapter in our industry's history.

With such massive growth being experienced by many providers, it was also a time to pause and think of the risks that unrestrained growth can have on our most vulnerable stakeholders, our young language learners who are under 18 years of age.

In his presentation, Mark Raven focused on best practice and the protection of minors in a presentation to over 80 attendees, using examples from other QALEN members, precipitating a launch of a new set of Quality Principles supporting young people in late 2015!
