No Images? Click here April 2018It is already four years since NEXT was launched. We have invested in 13 initiatives in education and the environment – the latest announced last month, The Education Hub. The Education Hub is bridging the gap between educational research and innovative teacher practice. It is an online and convening resource for teachers. And it is an investment in our children – all of NEXT’s investments focus on making New Zealand a better place for our land and our people. With a solid portfolio in both education and the environment, NEXT has decided not to schedule any further application (EOI) processes, and we will instead focus more on supporting and expanding the positive impact our existing initiatives can have. To read more about this click here. In this newsletter we bring you details about The Education Hub; a thought leadership piece from Manaiakalani Chair Pat Snedden about the “benign neglect“ of our Maori and Pacific Island students – and a story from one of the foundation NEXT investments – Teach First NZ: Ako Mātātupu We also share a video from the Taranaki Mounga Project – where conservation dogs have conducted their own census on the endangered whio ducklings in the National Park – at last count a record 69, and growing.
