CPD Programme Learning Plans
The first two Continuing Professional Development Programme learning plans were due from all verifiers on 30 November 2019. You need to move fast if you have not yet submitted your plans and your agency has not already requested an extension. Plans need to be submitted to us via email.
Which RBM for Soft Serve Ice Cream?
Registration authorities who are placing/have registered soft serve ice cream under the Simply Safe & Suitable Template Food Control Plan, please note that through a formal review we’ve determined that a business selling soft serve ice cream can come under a National Programme 3.
Closing Registration Conditions
If verifiers/evaluators are sending reports to operators which contain information on registration condition progress, we would appreciate being cc’d on emails so that we are kept up-to-date and can close conditions promptly where possible. Condition close-out information can be emailed to us.

Food Notice Consultation
We welcome your feedback on proposed changes to the Requirements for Recognised Agencies and Persons Food Notice. The consultation will close on 20 December 2019. Issued in May 2017, this Food Notice sets the requirements for people and organisations wanting to be recognised to carry out verification functions under the Food Act 2014. Read more.

Close-out Dates for Approvals Applications
For the Christmas-New Year period, most MPI sites will be closed from the end of business on 24 December 2019, and will open again on 3 January 2020. Animal Products Act, Food Act or Wine Act applications received after 22 November 2019 may not be approved until the New Year. Read more.

Towards Mastery of Verification Practice
We’re thrilled that 36 verifiers in Wellington and 25 verifiers in Christchurch attended the first of the Recognised Persons’ Day workshops. These were superb days of information sharing, exchange of ideas and expertise, practise and learning. Read more.
Remote Verification Training for Verifiers
The Remote Verification training programme scheduled for the week of 2 December in Wellington has been moved to 25-28 February 2020. If you have not already applied and are interested in being considered for this programme, please email the Food Verifiers Academy to ask for the Registration of Interest form.
