Issue #2

Summer term

Welcome

Welcome to our second newsletter of the summer term.

This week sees us looking forward to the EEF guidance report on early years literacy which will be published on Friday - meanwhile, we have plenty of other interesting news and comment to share.

We're very pleased to introduce a second blog from Mark Woodlock, our Headteacher at The Blue School here in Wells, who is considering the importance of students' trust in the education system.

We also feature blogs on parental engagement and the problem of retaining early career teachers.

This edition also includes results from initial trials of a parenting app, an invitation to take part in trials funded by the EEF (this month, the focus is on maths trials and EAL in the mainstream classroom), and a reminder to let us know if you'd like to be part of one of the 2018/19 cohorts for our Leading Learning programme.

Please forward this newsletter to colleagues who may be interested and encourage them to register to receive updates direct to their inbox.

The thinking behind the experiment is highly relevant to the way schools operate.
