Breezing into Autumn

Start off the Autumn season with some fun and laughter with the whole family at Parramatta Nights in the Parramatta CBD with roller skating, open air cinemas and rooftop concerts! March is proving to be a busy and exciting month as well with registrations opening for the April School Holidays, Dolphins Swim School and Fitness Program. Look forward to new free programs like Better Ageing: Pickleball and the opening of recently upgraded playgrounds in Carlingford and Winston Hills!

Better Ageing: Pickleball

Join the Active Parramatta Van and  Pickleball Association of NSW for FREE Pickleball sessions in Toongabbie!

Tuesdays, 9, 16, 23 and 30 March | 9am - 10am | Binalong Park Tennis Courts

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis and tennis. Low impact, easy to learn and fun, it’s a social way to keep your heart and lungs healthy.

Over 55s Leisure and Learning Service

City of Parramatta’s Over 55s Leisure and Learning Service provides an extensive range of exciting and enjoyable physical, recreational and social activities throughout the year. Term 2 activities commence from 19 April 2021 with registrations opening a fortnight prior. A complete listing of programs will be available from early April.

Edwin Ross Reserve Playground Officially Open

City of Parramatta Council is proud to celebrate the official opening of the new $200,000 playground at Edwin Ross Reserve, Carlingford. There’s something for everyone with features including nature-themed play equipment, a multi-use sports space, a street library and more! Make sure you check out the new playground and enjoy some outdoor fun.

2021 BMX Nominations

City of Parramatta Council is a proud Local Government Partner of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport, a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to  providing quality development programs for talented young athletes residing in the Western Sydney region. 

The Academy is currently looking for young BMX athletes to be part of their BMX Program! Check your eligibility and to put in a nomination by 13 March 2021.

PlayConnect Playgroups

PlayConnect Playgroups

PlayConnect is a free, safe and supported playgroup program for children on the Autism Spectrum, or with developmental delays or behavioural concerns, and their families.

Don Moore Community Centre: Corner of North Rocks Road and Farnell Avenue, North Rocks 

Don Moore Community Centre is a large multipurpose centre featuring a commercial kitchen and stage perfect for community and social functions. There are also other smaller spaces available for hire suitable for small gatherings, recreational activities and general meetings. Located alongside North Rocks Park the precinct includes tennis courts, sporting fields, a playground, barbecue areas and plenty of onsite parking.

Community Voice Survey - Centres Review 2020/2021

Council is undertaking a study on the value of 50 local and neighbourhood centres within the Parramattta LGA.

Your feedback will help shape future funding priorities, including public domain upgrades and street and park improvements. All feedback must be received by 5pm Monday 8 March 2021.

Representative Sports Grant
Local Sporting Champions Grant

Grants for Participating in Sporting Competitions

Did you know that you can receive financial assistance for competing in state, national or international sporting championships as competitors, coaches or officials?

City of Parramatta Council's Representative Sports Grant provides up to $1000 for residents of the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA). 

For those who don't live in the Parramatta LGA, Sport Australia's Local Sporting Champions provides up to $750 for participants aged 12-18.

Up to $2000 is available from City of Parramatta's Sport & Recreation Grants for projects that increase participation in local sport and recreation activities. The current round closes on 5 May 2021.

Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program

The Office of Sport's Local Sport Defibrillator Grant program is coming to an end after 4 years. Be sure to apply before it closes on 12 April 2021! 

Sport and recreation organisations are urged to get their applications in to ensure their venues are equipped to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
