Hi there , there is a lot going on in the SA recreational fishing scene so lets catch up on recent news, get ready for upcoming events and don't forget to have your say on issues of interest to you!
In this issue we have info on October Kids Fishing Clinics, National Gone Fishing Day, news from our recent Fishers for Fish Habitat Forum and 2016 SA Recreational Fishing Grants news. PLUS - Have Your Say on proposed aquaculture zones and the Productivity Commissions' draft report.
RecFish SA wants to say a big thanks to OzFish Unlimited and to the fishers and speakers who helped make our first Fish Habitat forum a success. Participants had the opportunity learn directly from a range of experts. The afternoon session involved a site visit along the Onkaparinga river where the fishers helped identify targets for our rehabilitation project. Click here to read more & sign up for future events>>
RecFish SA are thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Nature Play SA, thanks to their 2nd successful SA Recreational Fishing Grant. We'll be partnering again, to run clinics for kids at Family Fishing Days. The October 13 event has 3 sessions from 9am and it's FREE to attend. October 16 will be the first National Gone Fishing Day; the day Australians can get out on the water for a fish and celebrate our love of fishing.

RecFish SA will be celebrating the day at the Adelaide On Water Boat Show.
PIRSA are currently consulting on a proposal for new aquaculture zones, as well as changes to the activities in some existing east Spencer Gulf zones.

The Productivity Commission has released draft recommendations from its inquiry into fisheries and aquaculture. If implemented, a number of the recommendations would lead to significant changes for management at both the Federal and State levels.
RecFish SA are preparing our response to the Commission and are inviting your feedback on the draft recommendations. We have shared links to the report as well as summary of the recommendations for recreational fishing on our webpage. Visit to read more and provide feedback >>
RecFish SA were thrilled to be invited to open the new St Kilda fish cleaning table last month and we are pleased to pass on the news that up to 37 new projects are being funded to benefit recreational fishers. Find out more >>
