Message From The President

Drum roll Please....We have a website!
You can visit by clicking on the link...http://www.floreatparkps.wa.edu.au
Congratulations to all involved with the development of the School Website.  It is a fantastic addition to the suite of communication tools we now have at our disposal to continue to build and strengthen communication with our school community.  I encourage parents to subscribe to the school calendar and newsfeed to keep up to date with all the events and news.  The P&C will continue our Facebook page and eNewsletters.

I would like to thank all of our amazing volunteers who were involved in the successful fundraising and social activities this term. I would also like to make a special mention to all our class reps who have gone above and beyond their traditional role to support the many events that have occurred this term.  Without the generousity of our school community we could not achieve all that we do for our kids.

Please enjoy our last eNewsletter for the term.

Update from Last P&C Meeting

The P&C Meeting was held on the 9th June 2015. A summary of the  main points discussed at the meeting are as followed:

  • Thank you to all parents who have paid their voluntary contributions.  To date we have received 87% of the voluntary contributions.
  • Traffic Update: To progress with the Children's Crossing Application, assistance is needed with counting traffic along Chandler Ave for an hour before and after schoool. If anyone is willing to help please contact Lynette Diaz at lynette.dias100@gmail.com
  • The Website is now up and running. The P&C plan to utilise the web page as its main communication tool. All minutes/Enewsletters will be loaded onto the webpage. We aim to minimise the nu,ber of emails coming to your inbox, but please keep in mind there will be a transition period whilst  people become familiar with the website.

Edu-Dance DVD's

As in previous years, the P&C have organised for the Edu-Dance concerts to be filmed by Grant Taylor (parent/professional photographer/prom night photographer) with the disc available for purchase as a keepsake for you and your children.

Grant will film both concerts on Thursday 18th June and Friday 19th June.  Both concerts will be available on one disc at the price of $20.

We hope that by making the DVD available you can relax and enjoy the concert.  It will be a wonderful keepsake for your child, whilst also giving parents, grandparents and friends who are unable to attend an opportunity to see these fantastic performances.

If you would like to order a DVD please Click Here and follow the prompts. All orders must be placed by 2nd July 2015.

Fancy an overnight stay at The Richardson with a 6 course dinner and breakfast for 2? This is the fanciest hotel in town and all the celebrities stay here when they're in Perth! Or maybe you are drawn to the iPad Air 32GB +WiFi so you don't have to share your iPad with the kids anymore!

There are heaps of other great prizes too - all you need to do is buy a ticket.  Tickets are available on Trybooking, from your Class Rep and at the Snack Shack.  We need to sell all of the tickets by 30th June, so please consider taking a book of 10 home to sell to your family/friends/neighbours or even work colleagues.  Please email us if you would like to take a book home.

ELC Quiz Night

The ELC held another fabulous Quiz Night on Saturday 23rd May. This evening could not have been such a success if it wasn’t for the efforts of Kristy Corbett and her team of helpers; Kate Wagstaff, Fiona O’Brien and Emma Falconer.

The Quiz Night raised $4,859.75 for the ELC which will be used for resources for the Early Years classes.

Special mention must be made to Paul and Jodie Trainor for their donation, considering their children are now past the ELC years.

Thank you for the generous donations from families to make up the gourmet hampers and to those who donated prizes for the evening. Also to the many helpers who helped on the day and throughout the evening.

Another successful ELC Quiz Night and certainly an ‘evening to remember’; what a fun night!!

Uniform Shop

After some careful consideration, the Uniform Shop will not be opening on Wednesday afternoons any more.

Instead we will open on THURSDAY mornings 8.15am - 9.15am.

Like the canteen, we are only able to run the uniform shop successfully with the generous help of the school community.

If you can help on Thursday mornings from 8.15am to 9.15am, or for a part of that time (in particular 8.30am until 9am), then please contact us on email smetanahome@westnet.com.au

Thank you.

On line uniform shop launching very soon!

Skyline is looking for a Project Manager

The Skyline Project is making progress.  We will be ready to start site works in Term 3, but we need more help on the committee.

We are looking for a Project Manager - someone who will be able to arrange small works projects with building sub-contractors and assist in handling coordination of works. Someone with “Building” experience would be ideal, but not necessary. Please email us if you are able to assist.

For more information on The Skyline Project, check out our Skyline website!

Thank You Mrs O'Neil

On behalf of the school community I would like to persoanlly thank Mrs Coral O'Neil for her valuable contribution to our school during her time with us.

Mrs O'Neil has been a breathe of fresh air and it has been a pleasure to work alongside her on the school website, school board, development of the school business plan and associated documents for IPS.  Her work ethic is beyond compare and we will miss her greatly!  Students in year five and year one will also miss her sense of humour and teaching style.

We wish you and your family all the very best on your return to NSW.
