Important Notices:

*It is important for the safety of our students and local residents that all parents who drive to school in the mornings and afternoons are adhering to the road rules.

We ask you all to consider the following:

- Do not speed on our surrounding roads as many families walk to and from school and this compromises their safety.
- Do not park on the zig zag lines at the front of the school as this impacts on our students safely crossing the road.
- Do not park across the driveways of our neighbours, as this will disrupt access to their private property.

As a school we suggest walking or catching public transport to school to where possible. If you have to drive, there is often ample parking spaces a little further away from the school, which may also alleviate the congestion and stress of the morning.

We thank you for your cooperation on this matter and your consideration of our local community.

**Late arrival to school results in interruptions to the learning process. Parents are encouraged to have students to school on time. Parents who come to drop their child to school after 8:30am start must come in to the office to sign-in.  All children need to be signed in using our new electronic system, which will change the class register to show that they are on school premises.  Excessive tardiness to school may be referred to the Local Authority for action and possible court referral.

***School Uniform - Children must always come into school with correct full school uniform which includes tie and black shoes (black trainers are not acceptable). If your child comes to school in the incorrect uniform parents will be notified.  Please ensure that your child has the correct School21 PE Kit on PE days.

****Equipment - Parents please ensure your child comes into school with all the equipment and food they will need for the day.  The front office will not be responsible for taking things to classroom as this is disruptive to children's learning.

The next two community choir rehearsals will take place on Friday 8th June and Friday 22nd June, running from 4-5pm. We will be working with instruments as we build towards a fantastic community parade in July. Come along and enjoy the fun! No experience necessary

Robots, Assemble!

For our last project session this half term, Year 5 worked on building challenges that link with our final product: a time-trial build and program extravaganza!

A giant game board is currently under construction for the event which will take place in our project session after the half term break. Through the day, the children will work in teams to design, build and program robots that perform tasks in 5 different challenges. Teams will be judged on their teamwork skills and also the time taken to work through the problems until a winning team emerges!

Here are some pictures and videos of the team's designs for the ‘Shuttle Run’ challenge testing the design and programming for bugs!

Moderate GLA Air Quality Alert for School 21

Dear Parents/Carers,

As part of the Mayor of London’s drive to increase air quality in London, schools have received the following guidance:

  • If at all possible, advise parents not to drive their children to and from school (or students themselves not to drive), as this exacerbates pollution in the school vicinity. Note that pollution levels are often higher inside cars even when the windows are shut.
  • For those who continue to drive, ask parents/guardians/students not to idle their engines in the school vicinity.
  • For those walking and cycling, try to plan a route to and from school that sticks to side roads or goes through parks or other green areas.

Please help to increase the air quality in our local area.

Overdue Library Books

Please return your overdue library books! We currently have over 700 books overdue. This means that students are unable to borrow popular books.

Students are allowed to borrow up to three books for a loan period of one month and can be renewed after this period should the need arise. Any books that are lost or damaged must be replaced.

Librarian

DNA - Years 7 & 9

A group of teenagers do something bad, really bad, then panic and cover the whole thing up.  But when they find that their cover-up unites them and brings harmony to their once fractious lives, where is the incentive to put things right.
