Announcing New Community Grants

The Wisconsin Partnership Program recently launched two new community grant programs, both aimed at improving health equity through a focus on the social determinants of health — the nonmedical factors such as income, employment, education, housing and the quality of the places where people live, work, learn and play. Read more about the new Community Collaboration Grant and Community Catalyst Grant programs.

Partner Spotlight: Increasing the American Indian Nursing Workforce

Congratulations to grantees Audrey Tluczek, PhD, RN, and Mel Freitag, PhD, from the UW-Madison School of Nursing who have received a $1.3 million federal grant to develop a system of support services that will help admit, retain and graduate Native American nursing students. The award builds upon the objectives of a previous Partnership-funded project, Increasing Cultural Congruence among Nurses in Wisconsin that was initiated by the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council to increase the number of American Indians in the nursing workforce.

Call for Nominations: Consortium on Public and Community Health

Our colleagues at the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW) have asked us to share the following Call for Nominations for the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Consortium on Public and Community Health. AHW is seeking nominations to fill a public member vacancy on the MCW Consortium in the category of community health advocate. The MCW Consortium has similar responsibilities for community programs as the Partnership Program’s Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC). Learn more about this opportunity.
