Looney Labs Header

Looney Labs would like to wish everyone everywhere a Happy Juneteenth! Today we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, and we celebrate all who continue to work to break the chains of oppression still today.

Building community and promoting social equality are two of our three core values stated in our mission statement, and we don't take that lightly. The picture above represents some, but not all, of the people of color that we have put into our games, from Just Desserts to Mary Engelbreit Loonacy to Get the MacGuffin to a whole host of Fluxx variations. We feel that making sure people of color are represented in the games we make is an important way we can help continue to break chains.

Another thing we can do is make it clear that our game tables are a safe space for black gamers, and help build that community through events such as BlerDCon (a black nerd convention in Washington DC). We would love to attend more such events if you know of any!

Peace, love, and Happy Juneteenth... let's celebrate!

Looney Labs is seeking applicants to help us get some of our games up on Board Game Arena. We will be starting with the basic Fluxx (5.0) and other card games, but hope to eventually get to 3D rendered pyramids as well.

If you have the programming and graphics skills necessary for this job and are interested in taking it on, please email thelab@looneylabs.com with a description of your qualifications, availability, and what a reasonable soup-to-nuts rate would be to implement Fluxx. Thank you!

UPDATE: BookCon

Though the in-person event BookCon was canceled, the community came together to create the free virtual event BookConline! If you were unlucky enough to miss the memo (as we were), never fear! Sessions from the event were recorded and can be found at the BookConline session listings page

BookCon is the event where storytelling and pop culture collide. Experience the origin of the story in all its forms by interacting with the authors, publishers, celebrities and creators of content that influence everything we read, hear, and see. BookCon is an immersive experience that features interactive, forward thinking content including Q&As with the hottest talent, autographing sessions, storytelling podcasts, special screenings, literary quiz shows and so much more. BookCon is the ultimate celebration of books, where your favorite stories come to life.

CANCELED: Origins Online

The Looney Labs crew intended to have a booth in the Exhibit Hall and hold some events during Origins Online this weekend, but the event has been cancelled. We apologize for any disappointment. The events that led to this decision are complex.

Origins Online was intending to have multiple channels of gaming fun available to attendees on a "pay what you want" basis. Plans included an Exhibitor Hall, an Event Hall with seminars, demonstrations, and scheduled gaming, a set of Twitch channels known as OriginsTV with various performers, and a Discord Server for more informal sessions such as open gaming, playtesting, and the Big Bar Online.

Gen Con Online

The physical event has been cancelled, but Looney Labs will be at Gen Con Online playing games, chatting with fans, running events, and showing off prototypes. We look forward to seeing old friends, but are also excited at the prospect of meeting lots of new friends since this event is FREE and can be attended by anyone anywhere who has an internet connection. Please invite everyone you know and let's make this the biggest Gen Con yet!

Gen Con is known as "the best four days in gaming," and with good reason! With over 500 exhibitors and 19,000 events last year, it's no wonder that nearly 70,000 people came to play and see their friends. There's nothing quite like it... one of those bucket list kind of events for gamers... now more accessible than ever!

Promo New Release Header
Q: Do you have any idea where I can find some dang toilet paper???

A:  Funny you should ask... since it's been in short supply, we had some manufactured on promo cards. It's a Keeper which says, "During your turn, you can exchange this for any Keeper another player has in play." You can see from the font that this promo is designed to match the Zombie Fluxx deck (since TP has special value during an apocalypse) but the card will work in any version.  After all, Fluxx is a great way to pass the time during any kind of apocalypse!

For a limited time (we're not sure how long) we will be adding one free with every order at our webstore. You don't have to ask for it, we're just putting one in every order.

"But Alison!" I hear you cry, "I have lots of decks! I need lots of TP!  When will it be in the store for sale? Can I get extras right now?"

Have no fear. First of all, we had a LOT of this printed up, so we're not planning on running out any time soon. It will eventually go up in the webstore like all our other promo cards, for $1 each.

For those who just have to have LOTS OF TOILET PAPER RIGHT NOW, here's how you can do it. First, understand that you're going to be getting one copy free. Then, if you want to get extras, you can use this super secret product we call Something Extra That Costs Money. The way this works is you type in what you want to get, and the cost ($1 each), and it goes into your webcart so you can pay via your method of choice.

So, for example, if you have five decks that you want to put the Toilet Paper promo card in, you can go to that link, and say you want 4 of them, for $1 each, (total of $4) and you'll get those four plus the free one. If you have any questions, you can write to us at customer-support@looneylabs.com.
