Dear Eagles, It's hard to believe that March is almost upon us, and hopefully that means a little less snow so I can gear up on training for the Boston Marathon. Speaking of, there are some exciting plans in the works for Mile21. More to come soon! My top picks for this week include a screening of the Loyola Project and Claudia Rankine who will be giving a reading from her book, Citizen. I also feature the Women's Center's showcase in honor of Women's History Month and the Career Center welcomes Collin Fedor '15, Massachusetts House of Representatives who will speak to his experiences working in state government. In
observance of Ash Wednesday, Campus Ministry has put together a mass schedule. Sincerely,
Dr. Shawna Cooper-Gibson

Woven together with archival footage and modern day interviews, this captivating story continues to provide inspiration in the fight for equality. Virtual Lecture: “‘From the Pope to a Flat White’: Introducing Martin Parr’s Irish Photographs” by Professors Marjorie Howes, Vera Kreilkamp, and Joseph Nugent
Monday, February 28 | 5:30pm to 6:30pm
The McMullen Museum welcomes Boston College Irish Studies Professors Marjorie Howes, Vera Kreilkamp, and Joseph Nugent to introduce Martin Parr’s Irish photographs that form the core of its current exhibition, Martin Parr: Time and Place. These images are at once documentary, carefully composed, and frequently enigmatic. They will trace how Parr’s early black and white photos of the first papal visit to a deeply reverent and seemingly timeless traditional Ireland evolve into often ironic depictions of one of
Europe’s most innovative, consumer-oriented, and socially liberal countries. Their presentation will illustrate how a talented artist, moving from black and white to color photography, registers rapid social change with humor and, on occasion, with more biting critique
