Pregnancy Warning Labels
Under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, all alcoholic beverages are now required to include a pregnancy warning label on their labels. New Zealand Food Safety will be updating A Guide to Alcoholic Drinks to reflect this change.

We've been receiving queries about Food Act 2014 verification of hotels used to isolate and accommodate travellers returning to New Zealand. Our advice given to recognised agencies is to use Remote Checks to protect verifiers.

Verifiers Academy Upgrade
The Food Verifiers Academy will be offline 13-14 August 2020. The Academy platform, Tiritiri, is undergoing a major upgrade which requires MPI to take it offline for 1.5 days. You may see changes to the Academy when the upgrade goes live, as well as in the weeks following the upgrade, as we make additional tweaks to improve your experience. Read more.
Recognised Agencies and Persons Food Notice
We’ve proposed a few changes to the draft Requirements for Recognised Agencies and Persons Food Notice, which was consulted on in 2019. Verifiers, we want to hear what you think of the proposed changes. Emails were sent on 7 August, and responses are due by 14 August. Read more.
