Established by Council and attended by around 50 community leaders at this week’s meeting, the following focus areas were agreed by the members:

We encourage you to get involved and get behind our local business community who are doing it tough right now. Start planning your menu now with the list of participating businesses. Not only will you be supporting locals, but also giving yourself a break from the kitchen duties. Council services and amenities updateHere's the latest changes to our services and amenities. Beach car parks openBeach car parks have reopened following the end of the school holidays. A reminder to please avoid gathering, and to 'keep moving'. Ferry services continueLocal ferry services have resumed for non-North Shore residents and we continue to offer free travel for delivery drivers delivering food, medicines and other life essentials. Continuing to deliver for the communityWhile our customer-facing service centres are currently closed, we're still 'open for business' and continuing to deliver for our community. The reduction in traffic and less people about also means we are able to fast track some of our capital works projects. We’re proud of our frontline workers who have quickly established ways to work safely and consistently during this pandemic. New sewerage scheme for Telegraph Point communityTelegraph Point residents are the first of three communities in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region that can now connect to a new reticulated sewerage system. The three-village sewerage scheme is a major project being delivered for the townships of Telegraph Point, Comboyne and Long Flat. The first connections to the Telegraph Point sewerage network are expected to take place in May, with 101 properties able to be connected. Work commences on Marine Rescue repairsWork has commenced this week on the insurance repairs to the Marine Rescue building at Town Beach, Port Macquarie. In late 2019, the building's amenities and roof was considerably damaged by fire - a result of an arson attack. This impacted the Marine Rescue operations, as well as Salty Crew Kiosk and the local Lifeguards' equipment storage. While the work is underway, the team from Salty Crew Kiosk will continue to operate operate out of a temporary shipping container. We look forward to sharing the next update when work is complete. Next Council Meeting 6 May 2020We'll be holding the next Ordinary Meeting of Council on Wednesday 6 May, hosted as a virtual meeting through Council’s website. You can view the Business Papers online from close of business, Friday 1 May. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the public are unable to attend in person, and as a result, there will be no Public Forum. Residents may however, make representations to Councillors in writing on matters on the agenda by emailing councilmeeting@pmhc.nsw.gov.au or by contacting Councillors directly. Any information provided will assist Councillors in their decision making capacity on those particular agenda items. All representations to Councillors must be received by Council no later than 4:30pm on Monday 4 May 2020 via the above methods.
