Due to social distancing bookings are required for all our events. Story time in the libraryCommencing this week we welcome you back to the library for face to face story time, for rhymes, reading and lots of fun! Bookings for all story time sessions are now essential. Story time can be booked online or contact your branch library to book a session. We can’t wait to see you again! Youth WeekThis year we're celebrating Youth Week with a Youth Write competition.Take the opportunity to tell your Western Sydney story, responding to the theme Are We Here Yet? Your poem, story or personal essay will be judged locally, with category winners going on to the overall prize. Seniors FestivalThis year's Seniors' Festival has something for every one, so join us and get involved in one or more of our many events. Join us at Parramatta Library to watch the live stream of an author talk as part of the Sydney Writers Festival. Authors Kate Grenville (27 April) Anita Heiss (28 April) and Candice Fox (29 April) will be chatting about their their latest best sellers. Radicals: remembering the sixties author talkThe Sixties – an era of protest, free love, civil disobedience, duffel coats, flower power, giant afros and desert boots, all recorded on grainy black and white film footage. Join Nadia and Meredith talk about their new book 'Radicals' and discover more about that era. All attendees to the on-site event go into a draw to win a copy of the book, and an extra entry by dressing up like it's the 60s again. JP serviceWe are happy to announce that the JP (Justice of the Peace) volunteers are back in our libraries and ready to help the community! As bookings are now required, we kindly ask you to contact your local library to book an allocated time. To assist you, we've created a calendar of availability. If a JP is not available, check the online JP register for your suburb. ANZAC Day 2021Council encourages our community to recognise ANZAC Day this year in honour of all Australian servicemen and women, past and present. You can commemorate the day with the local community by attending a Dawn Service hosted by our local Parramatta and Epping RSL sub-branches. For those who are unable to attend a Dawn Service, you can access Council’s special Online Experience, or Light Up the Dawn from home. Youth Week at Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library Join Wentworth Point this Youth Week (17 April – 24 April) for a range of free events. From live music performances each Saturday at 11am (headlined by artists A.Girl and SPVRROW), youth gaming arcades every weekday afternoon and Try an Instrument workshops in the music rehearsal spaces.
