This is the deluxe version that includes all DWARF accessories such as an optional battery and filters as well as a carry bag and compact travel tripod. 

The DWARF II is probably best known for just how easy it makes capturing deep-sky astro objects like nebulae, galaxies and star clusters, but it's equally at home with long distance scenery, nature, and wildlife photography.

BINTEL Dobs have provided steady astro service to amateur observers and are used in astronomy clubs, schools and universities right across Australia. Dobs are low-tech and straightforward to use. This means a lot of telescope for your money.

As mentioned in previous newsletters, spotting scopes with ED glass offer super crisp images, especially when using higher magnifications. The Pentax 65mm and 80mm spotting scopes are ideal for those wanting to step up to better quality optics without the multi thousand-dollar price tags. 

Pentax 8-24mm Zoom eyepiece - $795 

These Pentax spotting scopes are not sold with eyepieces as standard. Instead, you can purchase a separate Pentax Zoom eyepiece OR use any of your existing 1.25" telescope eyepieces.  These Pentax ED 65mm and 80mm models are a flexible spotting scope system with great optics.

We're thrilled at the response to the BINTEL Astrophotography Competition for 2023!

The BINTEL Anthropography competition for 2023 has now closed.

We received more than twice the number of entries that were submitted in 2022. 

Our hard-working judges are now sifting through the hundreds of entries and evaluating each one, carrying out the tricky task of selecting the winners. 

With so many entries, this will take a little while. We'll announce the results as soon as we can!

This week in Space News - SpaceX Starship aims for a 18th November launch

SpaceX is taking another crack at launching the largest rocket ever flown.

A launch window for the second SpaceX Starship launch opens later tonight at 12.00am Sunday morning Sydney time.  If you feel like sitting up late on a Saturday evening, it could be quite a spectacular event! The last Starship made it off the ground and flew for some time before coming to an unfortunate end. 

You can watch the launch via the link below and there's several other locations online as well.  Further delays are not just possible, but fairly likely however. 

There's no doubt the technology behind Starship will become reliable at some point and a space vehicle of this size will change the way we travel into Earth orbit and beyond. Exciting times!
