We have invested in Igloo from our GB EIS Fund

It's an exciting time for both businesses and investors in Birmingham, with the recent growth into a global centre for entrepreneurship across traditional industrial, technology and service/support sectors. 

Shropshire based VR company Igloo Vision Limited (“Igloo”) is a provider of immersive 360-degree digital projection environments. With the use of graphics, live feed, video or animated audiovisuals Igloo can provide bespoke projects in a range of different sizes.

Lots of new MEIF investments this summer! 

We have had a really busy summer, investing in several companies from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF).

FPE Capital invests in Kallik

In August 2019, FPE Capital LLP completed the buyout of Kallik.  FPE Capital are a leading UK growth equity investor in specialist technology companies offering differentiated products or services that are critical to their customers.

Midven’s Exceed Partnership was the sole institutional investor in Kallik and supported the company from 2013 to 2019. The sale realised a 27% IRR.

Quantum Compliance was purchased by Marlowe

On 12th August 2019, Quantum Compliance was purchased by safety and compliance company investor Marlowe in a deal worth up to £7.2 million.

Midven’s Advantage Growth Fund (AGF) was the sole institutional investor in Quantum Compliance and has supported the company since its formation in October 2003.

The sale was another successful exit for Midven's AGF.

Midven hosted work experience!

It was a three day programme consisting of both A Level students and University students, enabling them to gain an insight into the world of venture capital and how the process works. 

The programme included showing the students a day in the life of those that work in the firm, as well as a visit to iCentrum Birmingham, a talk from a portfolio company and even a chance for them to present their own ideas across to the Midven team. 

The experience was capped off with lunch and a trip to an escape room, where we battled it out between staff and students. Of course the staff won. 

Huw got engaged! 

After two years of being together, our newest recruit, Huw, proposed at the top of Mount Teide, Tenerife, on August 10th, to Erin. 

They are looking to tie the knot next year, and so wedding preparations are in full swing.

Roger ran Stratford's Big 10k 2019

On Sunday 8th September, Roger managed to complete the course in an astonishing 49 minutes and 35 seconds! 

A great accomplishment for his first ever 10K run, and more importantly, below his target.
