Air Force Buys Next-Generation Drones to Strike Deep Into Enemy Territory

Welcome back. U.S. Air Force contracts with Anduril and General Atomics for larger, faster, more expensive combat drones come as small, cheap, quick-to-build aircraft have reshaped modern warfare in both Ukraine and Iran.

Unlike today’s Reaper drones, which must be flown remotely, the new drones are being built to fly autonomously with limited human command.

Amazon's One Medical healthcare unit is warning seniors of a data breach. A third-party file storage system used by One Medical Senior Health, formerly known as Iora Health, was accessed, the company said. One Medical, which acquired Iora in 2021, didn't say how many people were affected or specify the data that was compromised.

A new ransomware operation known as Prinz Eugen seeks out recently modified data to encrypt as a way to help ensure its attacks are effective, according to research from cyber company Malwarebytes. The malware doesn't automatically leave a ransom note, likely so as to limit artifacts left on corrupted systems. Instead, the attackers contact victims through email, phone or other means. (Bleeping Computer)

New CISO at SolarWinds: Justin Henkel joins the software company as CISO after nearly five years at OneTrust, most recently as deputy CISO.

  • SolarWinds has been on the hunt for a new CISO since late last year when Tim Brown said he would step down. Brown and the company fought a lawsuit from the Securities and Exchange Commission, which alleged securities fraud linked to a Russian cyberattack disclosed in 2020. Brazil's government is investigating a suspected hack of its emergency alert system after an unauthorized message went out to residents' cell phones in three states Saturday. (CNN)

Driver's license data for three million Texans was breached when a company that handles the state's hunting and fishing licenses was hacked. Texas Cyber Command, created in 2025 to respond to cyber threats, detected the attack. (Dallas Morning News)
