April 2019

CEO Message

As we head into the Easter school holidays Destination Gippsland has been busy marketing our region to Melbourne and the world.  The new brand campaign ‘Gippsland – all kinds of wonder’ will be seen on billboards across Melbourne in coming weeks.

We are also taking the Gippsland message to the Australian Tourism Exchange for international buyers in Perth.  We thank our industry and government partners for supporting these marketing efforts as we work to raise the awareness and appeal of our incredible region.

Keep an eye out for the billboards along the Nepean Highway, Peninsula Link, South Eastern Freeway, East Link, Princess Freeway and the South Eastern Freeway.  The campaign will run for the next three weeks.

Events across Gippsland

There has been a variety of wonderful summer events across Gippsland and autumn and winter are looking to be just as interesting.

Lardner Park will be transported back to the middle ages after being announced as the location of the 2019 World Jousting Championships. The event, on June 1-2, will see Lardner Park converted into a medieval village, with knights in armour wandering the streets, jousting, full flight birds of prey, Viking battles, a knightly foot tournament, archery, a trebuchet (giant medieval catapult), a Shakespearean tavern and more.  See here to read more.

To find other events and inform visitors of what to do across the region please see here.  Events can be listed for free on Visit Victoria, please see here.
