With all the great programs coming up at The FriendShip, there's a lot to look forward to! See details below about March activities and be sure to mark your calendars. (And, remember to set your clocks forward an hour before you go to bed this Saturday night; it's time to spring forward! Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 11.) A Spring Tweet - Thursday, March 22 The FriendShip has invited Jim Kelly, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited, to share his beautiful collection of bird photos and vast knowledge of bird behavior and habitat with us. He's traveled all over the country documenting and learning about a huge variety of birds. The wonderful FriendShip volunteer who helped coordinate this program says that his photos rival those in the nature magazine Birds & Blooms! So, we are in for a treat and a tweet! Please mark your calendar and feel free to invite guests.
March Social Hour - Tuesday, March 27 Join FriendShip friends for a spring afternoon on Tuesday, March 27 at 2:30 p.m. We are planning a social hour to take place at the home of one of our member/volunteers. There will be light refreshments and plenty of good company! Presentation by the Carolina Wildlife Center - Tuesday, March 20 In addition to the FriendShip programs described above... Our friends at the Leisure Club of the College Place United Methodist Church have extended an invitation to all FriendShip members and volunteers to hear a speaker from the Carolina Wildlife Center on Tuesday, March 20. The Carolina Wildlife Center is devoted to the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned animals and the preservation of wildlife through education. The program promises to be of interest to all animal lovers! This event will include a covered dish lunch. Guests are asked to arrive at 11:45 a.m. and bring a dish to share; the church will provide fried chicken. The speaker will begin at noon. Please let the FriendShip office know if you plan to attend so we can let the Leisure Club know how many guests there will be. The FriendShip is happy to arrange rides and carpooling. (Please note that several FriendShip volunteers and members are actively involved at the Leisure Club and thought this event would be of interest to our group. Special thanks to them for including us!) More details and reminders will be sent about these and other upcoming events soon! Hope to see you there! - The FriendShip |
