It features lived experience from veterans, currently available services, and referral pathways. Community pharmacy Over a million more flu vaccinations administered by community pharmacists during 2020/21 Community pharmacy teams have administered over a million more flu vaccinations under the national Flu Vaccination Service during 2020/21 than the previous year – a 62% increase. The NHS Business Services Authority has published the Advanced Service Flu report which shows that community pharmacists administered 2.76 million vaccinations under the national Flu Vaccination Service in 2020/21, an increase from 1.72 million in the previous season. Primary care National PCN webinar: Building and housing your primary care network team - 23 June 2021, 5.30-7pm Dr Ursula Montgomery, GP and Senior Clinical Advisor for Primary Care and Emily Henderson, Deputy Director Primary Care Workforce will host the next in our series of PCN webinars for clinical directors, general practice teams, CCGs and integrated care system leaders. This event will focus on the multi-disciplinary team in a primary care network with colleagues joining us from around the country to share their experience of working together as a team and the benefits to local populations. We will also look at ways to accommodate your new workforce making full use of your estate. You will hear from Andy Bennett, National Clinical Director MSK conditions. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the event and share your feedback on how nationally and regionally NHS England and NHS Improvement can support you and your PCN. Patient and clinician guidance videos for teledermatology now available New guidance videos have been published to support patients and primary care with teledermatology and are available on the NHS England and NHS Improvement Youtube channel.
The patient videos are also being hosted as part of the National Health and Care video library, alongside other health-related videos. New e-learning programme on identifying and responding to sexual assault and abuse Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare and NHS England and NHS Improvement have developed an e-learning programme that provides information and advice for identifying and responding to sexual assault and abuse. This programme brings together numerous resources relating to the identification and response to rape, sexual assault and abuse, with learners able to access information, view videos and case studies and undertake self-assessments to support learning. Changes to Pneumovax®23 (Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine, PPV23) - supply route There will be a change to the supply route of Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (PPV) from 1 June. In line with other national immunisation programmes, PHE will supply this vaccine for the routine immunisation programme and immunisation of those with underlying medical conditions from 1 June 2021, rather than providers locally procuring the vaccine. From this date, the vaccine will be available to order from PHE’s ImmForm website. Please ensure you have an account to enable access. Update from the LeDeR programme (Learning from Lives and Deaths - People with a Learning Disability and Autistic People) The new LeDeR website and notification site was launched on 25 May. This replaces the previous University of Bristol web pages and notification site, which has been decommissioned as we prepare to begin working with a new academic partner. The way in which a death is notified remains the same. The move follows the introduction of a new policy for LeDeR, also in easy read. From 1 June, there will also be a new process for reviewers to follow, new training and a new web platform for the LeDeR workforce. We anticipate an announcement about the new academic partner in the coming weeks, once late stage negotiations have been finalised. Dates for your diary Thursday 27 May, 7pm – 8.30pm.
