Party Time!

This week saw the culmination of our project as we welcomed our families into class on Wednesday for a special celebration. We took part in storytelling and spoke in groups about the different celebrations that we have learned about this term. We were very grateful for the delicious cultural food that was provided and we know that the children had a lovely time sharing all of their learning!

Capoeira Club

Capoeira is being offered at School 21 as one of its After School Clubs. Capoeira (pronounced kah-por-rey-ah) is an afro-Brazilian martial art and dance that is for everyone. Mestre Madeira teaches capoeira as a game of skill, creativity, fun and movement. Capoeira is set to music and so moves in one continuous flow. It also uses many acrobatic, graceful and agile movements. Capoeira helps develop many things including balance, coordination, a general level of fitness and flexibility, a sense of rhythm and awareness over one’s own body. See http://capoeiramuzenza.co.uk/ for more info.
