Australian retailer Kmart violated customer privacy by collecting facial images and other sensitive data without notifying shoppers, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said. Investment firm Insight Partners is notifying more than 12,600 current and former employees and limited partners that their personal information was stolen by hackers who accessed tech systems used in HR and finance. The company detected the hack in January, as servers became encrypted. An investigation later showed the intruders had gained entry in October 2024.

"The impacted data may include certain fund, management company, and portfolio company information, banking and tax information, and certain personal information," Insight Partners said in May.

Luxury retailer Tiffany is notifying 2,590 gift-card users that their personal information was exposed in a May hack. That includes name, address, email address, phone number, sales data, internal client reference number, and Tiffany gift card number and PIN. Not all data was compromised for all customers. The company didn't offer free credit monitoring in its notification letter.
