What is your favorite thing about your major? Why?

I love my major and I love it for two very specific reasons! Number 1 is Mark Moon. Number 2 is how people based the major is. Dr. Moon’s BUAD 332 class was by far one of the best classes I’ve ever taken at UT. It was really the deciding factor for me to choose Marketing as my major. With that, Marketing is all about understanding people and what is appealing to them. Different ways to appeal to their senses, beliefs, and ideas. Marketing is a powerful concept to help a person find what they want or need! I want to be a part of that process and that’s why I love this major.

If you could spend the day with anyone, who would it be? Why?

If I could spend the day with anyone, it would be with Peyton Manning. While many people admire Peyton Manning for his incredible athletic successes and the prestige he returned to the University of Tennessee's football team, I have always been amazed at the way he embraced the Volunteer tradition as soon as he stepped onto the campus. While he had the confidence to play SEC football as a true freshman, he had the humility to train hard, stay respectful, and perfect his craft. Even when he was known as one of the best quarterbacks to ever live, he still focused on improving himself every day. That is the type of work ethic that turns a man into a legend, and it can be done with anything, not with just football or sports. And if I had the chance to spend the day with Peyton, I would do my best to recruit him on to UT's athletic staff, so he can come back home.

One accomplishment I am proud of is going abroad last summer and doing an internship! I believe global travel is important to personal development, and it was the best experience of my college career.

What is your favorite thing about your major? Why?

My favorite thing about accounting is that there are many different routes you can take within the profession. For example, I plan to get my CPA license and work for the FBI as a forensic accountant as opposed to working in the tax or auditing sectors. It is a career I'm really excited about.
