Click here EXHIBITIONS GALLERY SEVEN (OPENING SOON) Art of Nature, April 18 – May 20, 2019 Discover an array of stunning floral paintings and prints and even some pressed botanicals from the Everhart’s Herbarium. Dozens of work from the Everhart’s collection will be on display to celebrate spring’s arrival. PROGRAMS & EVENTSArt in Bloom is just around the corner. April 26 - 27, the galleries will come to life with the blooms of spring. Discover stunning art-inspired floral installations created by area designers that are inspired by our collection. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite floral arrangement that best ‘matches’ the inspiring artwork. Donations made for the People’s Choice Award will be used by the Museum for participation in the Scranton Area Community Foundation Match Day initiative #2019NEPAMatchDay. That means as you vote for the best arrangement you are helping the Everhart twice, as every dollar vote will be matched by the Everhart Board. POETRY SLAM The Everhart is proud to host the Breaking Ground Poets Poetry Slam, taking place on Saturday, April 6 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. During this slam, area high school students will face-off against each other, delivering original poetry written by the participant. The event is FREE and open to the public. Judges: David Bosley, Glynis Johns, Nik Moreno, Catherine Richmond-Cullen, and Patrice Wilding PANEL DISCUSSION In connection with the OurSELF exhibit, the Museum will present a panel on mental health and suicide awareness on Thursday, April 11 at 6:00pm. The event is FREE and open to the public. Panelists: Judy Copeland, Women’s Resource Center; Vanessa White Fernandes, Lou Ruspi Jr. Foundation; Ed Shoener, Katie Foundation and St. Peter’s Cathedral; Mary Turek, Scranton Counseling Center; Kelly Worozbyt, Penn State Scranton and Geisinger CMC Moderator: Joe Dombroski, Scranton Police Department ADULT WORKSHOPS & CLASSESMaker's and Master's Workshops offer adults an opportunity to try their hand at traditional crafts taught by a professional artist. o Art Journaling with Renee Emanual - Saturday, May 4 (Maker's) and Saturday, May 11, 18, 25 and June 1 (Master's) o Watercolor with Bill Teitsworth Thursday, May 9 (Maker's) and May 16, 23, 30, and June 6 (Master's) Reservations are required and seating is limited. Evergreen Senior Arts Club is a free arts program for adults 55+ held on the third Thursday of each month. Each class has a different focus of discussion about the Museum collection followed by the creation of an artwork. EVERHART CONNECTS: Drop-in Art Workshop for Adult Caretakers is a free class held on the third Saturday of each month led by artist-in-residence Elizabeth Parry Faist. Each class includes a brief tour of the Museum, a discussion, and art-making workshop. This program is run in partnership with Early Stage Engagement Program and the Greater PA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
