Exciting News From JudeDear Readers: I am very excited to share that I have co-authored my first book --- and it will be part of a series called Providence Falls! The idea came about when my agent asked if I’d like to co-author a trilogy. The plan was that I’d plot the novels, then someone else would flesh them out and expand the story. Since I have more plots in my mind than I could ever write, this sounded good to me. I
wrote Chance of a Lifetime with Tara Sheets, who has written a number of books, including Don't Call Me Cupcake, a Holloway Girls series title. We plotted back and forth during my 2019 World Cruise, and from there Tara wrote away as I sailed on. Our first book comes out on September 15th, and I hope you enjoy it. Read on for more about Chance of a Lifetime. Note that there are two more books planned to get Liam, the main character, out of the mess he made of his life so long ago. Hope he succeeds!

I had an extraordinary two weeks of writing!
I finished The Cattleman’s Daughters, which is my next Women's Fiction novel, read through it, then sent it off to my editor. Hours later, I was onto my next Medlar mystery, A Relative Murder, which is coming in 2021. I had a lot of the plot in mind for Jack, Kate and Sara, so I thought it would be a breeze to flush it out. I easily added some scenes and character details. That’s when I saw that there was an itty bitty teeny weeny flaw in my plot. There was no murder. No murder, no murderer, no motive for anyone to kill anybody. The perfect murder mystery, right? For a whole week I was frantically trying to add a murder to the plot. My idea was to find a body in the trunk of a car. I was so stuck on this
idea that it didn’t occur to me that it was useless. It related to nothing else. But obsessive me spent days trying to fit it in. On Friday morning, I threw out the idea of a man in the trunk. I never knew who he was so I didn’t feel too bad, and I started at the beginning. Clean slate. That’s when I realized that it was all there in my story. The place, who was involved, and best of all, how to reveal a big secret. Everything fit together! So, that is where I am now, organizing and plotting. We may finally get to see a glimpse of Kate's father, Randal.
Now I think I may stay in bed and watch those Reddit things about worst dates, etc. But then, I will probably watch YouTube videos about how to use sheet glass filters. I hope all of you are being safe. I haven’t left my property since 19 March — and I’m still loving it. The car dealership is bugging me daily that I must, must bring in my car for service, but I’m ignoring them. I have deeply enjoyed staying home — and it’s certainly been productive!
