Weekly update 18 November 2024

Welcome to our weekly update report. We want to keep you informed of our work and answer your questions. We'll include lodgement queue processing times and volumes.

 

Outage of electronic certificate portal

Due to scheduled MPI maintenance activities, MPI will be unable to receive electronic phytosanitary certificates from 3:00pm - 9:00pm on Friday, 22 November. This will impact electronic certificates MPI receives from overseas Governments, especially Australia.

To minimise any disruption to your import clearance during this time, please ensure any perishable lodgements ex Australia with phytosanitary requirements are submitted as early as possible for processing prior to 2.30pm.

Any electronic certificates issued to NZ during the outage will be available when the system is back up at 9:00pm.

 

Sea freight queue

For this week, sea freight lodgement turnaround is estimated at 3 days.

On Monday 18 November, morning, the total sea freight queue (includes Australian lodgements) stood at 511 lodgements and TET were processing lodgements due Monday at 12:16pm

Last week:  average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 18:30 hrs (previous week 20:05hrs) and for second submissions 8:28 hrs (previous week 9:43 hrs).

 

Airfreight queue

For the coming week, air freight lodgement turnaround is estimated 3 hours

On Monday 18 November, morning, there were 0 airfreight lodgements in the queue for processing.

Last week:  average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 2:09 hrs (previous week 2:44 hrs) and for second submissions 2:50 hrs (previous week 2:54 hrs).

 

Australia queue

On Monday 18 November, morning, there were 80 Australian specific lodgements, the team is processing consignments due back Monday at 4:08pm

Last week:

Average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 2:29 hrs (previous week 2:29 hrs) and for second submissions 2:19 hrs (previous week 3:26 hrs).

Average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 17:10 hrs (previous week 16:34 hrs) and for second submissions was 7:58 hrs (previous week 10:27 hrs).

Pressure point: None noted
