The monthly E-News shares provincial program information and updates about the Facility Engagement (FE) Initiative. This information will be of interest to medical staff association (MSA) support teams, please feel free to forward the newsletter to your MSA executives as needed.
EHR info now on Facility Engagement website
FE has created a new section under MSA Tools and Resources on the Facility Engagement website to answer questions you may have about electronic health record (EHR) funding and implementation.
Under Provincial Funding, you will find a new section called “EHR Engagement” that contains the following documents:
- 2019 PMA MoU Introduction of EHRs in Health Authority Facilities.
- FE Funding Guidelines – MSA EHR Engagement (previously under ”Guidelines and Policies”).
- Lessons Learned: EHR Engagement and Implementation
This may provide some valuable information for those MSAs starting the EHR process
Reminder: FE evaluation survey – Closes Aug 9
On July 6, Facility & Community Engagement sent a notice to MSA/physician societies and health authority partners about the FE evaluation survey that is being conducted as part of the final phase of the provincial evaluation of the FE Initiative. This survey is intended for physicians, medical staff, and health authority stakeholders.
Below are key points to note about the 2021 FE Evaluation Survey:
- MSAs/physician societies are encouraged to share the below open survey link or FE website widely within their networks (e.g., include in newsletters, websites, other communication channels) to their members, as well as the remaining medical staff and health authority colleagues who have a passive or non-existent role in Facility Engagement.
- Open survey link
- The survey can also be accessed through FE website
- This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.
- The survey will be closing on August 9, 2021.
Zoom tip: Appearance
- Do you ever look at your Zoom window and think, “That can’t be right?”
- Did you know that Zoom allows for ways to look your best?
1. To change your appearance, open Settings and follow the steps below.
2. Under General, you can change your thumbs up icon to match your skin tone from the default of yellow.
3. Under Video, there are a few options to change your appearance:
- Do you want your video to appear as you do in the mirror? Click the “mirror my video” option.
- Do you want Zoom to adjust your video? Click the “touch up my appearance” option and move the slider to your heart’s content.
4. Under Background and Filters, you can have fun with your background by using the default backgrounds, or by Googling Zoom Backgrounds, downloading the image of your choice, and adding it to the library by clicking the + and “add image."
5. Or perhaps you would like to look like the infamous “Cat Lawyer” by applying a filter to your Zoom?
NOTE: These filters stay on, so be sure to turn them off after use by clicking NONE.
6. Finally, if you are in a meeting and just can’t look at yourself anymore, turn off your self-view (others can still see you) by clicking the three ellipses at the top of your view and choosing the “hide self-view” option.
Fall/Winter COVID Payments Complete
The Fall/Winter COVID-19 payments have been made to all physicians in FEMS as of Thursday, July 29. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this process.
