Wine of the Month Well, this is going to be a challenge with all the new wines coming out Summer of 2018! Our NEW 2015 Reserve Petite Sirah from Lodi is no exception from our ever growing selection of signature, hand-crafted wines! This Petite Sirah comes right off the Omega Vineyard which produces dark, inky colored juice that is relatively acidic, with firm texture and round mouth-feel; the bouquet has herbal and black pepper overtones, and typically offers flavors of blue fruit, black fruit, plums, and especially blueberries. The wines are very tannic, with aging ability that can exceed 10 years in the bottle. Petite Sirah can sometimes be rather "short", that is, the flavor does not linger in the mouth, hence the benefit of blending with another grape which may lack mid-palate depth, but add length and elegance. However, this wine although very young will be one of my epic wines! It has a very long lasting finish with hints of chocolate on the very end!
