Throwback ThursdayRex Hazlewood's PhotographsPhotographer Rex Hazlewood was the son of land agent, David Hazlewood who built Verani at 24 Homebush Road in 1888. Rex spent some of his early years there before the family established a fruit growing business at Epping. In 1909 he began training for the Baptist ministry. While living in country NSW he became enthusiastic about photography. He served during WWI and was appointed an official war photographer late in the war. Among his local photographic commissions was a series of photos of the State Brickworks at Homebush. These are now in the collection of the State Library of NSW.
