After extensive renovations which include new playing fields, a playground, cycleway, an upgraded amenities block and new cricket nets, we’re excited to hold Strathfield Christmas Carols as the first event at Bressington Park following the opening! When: Saturday 8 December from 2pm, official opening at 4:30pm, Captain Barnacles at Bressington ParkCaptain Barnacles, a brave polar bear and leader of the Octonauts crew will be on hand opening the new park and kicking off Christmas Carols! Come and watch him at centre stage as he unveils the discoveries of his undersea adventures! There will also be a family picnic, jumping castle, petting zoo, food stalls, community Christmas performances, a special movie screening of Elf and stunning fireworks display! Strathfield Cleaned Out Thank you to the 220 people who attended Council’s latest Chemical Clean Out Day and ensured that nearly 9.5kg in household chemicals were disposed of thoughtfully. Throwback ThursdayFormer Strathfield LibraryThe High Street Library was Strathfield’s Central Library from 1967 until a new two-storey library at 65 Rochester Street was officially opened by the Mayor Alderman Clarrie Edwards in 1976. The CWA will be on site also, selling strawberry jam in support of strawberry farmers. Come along for some fun and bring non-perishable food to donate to farmers in need.
