UCLA School of Law had a terrific year in 2017-18 and we're thrilled to share some highlights! To name a few: Faculty were ranked among the top in the country by two surveys; the school raised more than $25 million from alums and friends; added five new ladder faculty; welcomed an outstanding new class; launched three exciting new clinics; and expanded its full-tuition program for students from challenging backgrounds. In September, Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan visited the school, and Professor Adam Winkler's most recent work of legal history, We the Corporations, was named a finalist for the National Book Award. UCLA Law has the 8th-highest number of leading scholars in their fields, according to one survey, and is 11th in the country for faculty scholarship cited by others, and up from 15th in 2010. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan visited UCLA Law just days before the start of the 2018-19 term, meeting with students and engaging in a colorful and insightful public Q&A. Alumni and friends of UCLA Law made more than 4,400 gifts in fiscal 2017-18, raising $25.1 million for scholarships, curriculum, clinics and more. Justice Audrey Collins '77, Silicon Valley leader Rick Runkel '82 and Bet Tzedek CEO Jessie Kornberg '07 will be honored as UCLA Law's Alumni of the Year on Nov. 1. Please join us !
