All Raise female VCs team up with female founders across the U.S. to pay it forwardA few months ago, a group of powerhouse female VCs came together to create Female Founders Office Hours, which provides one-on-one mentoring sessions between female investors and female founders. Last week, the group announced the official launch of All Raise, a nonprofit that aims to help women in venture capital and entrepreneurship connect and support one another. [ Venture Beat ] WeWork is on an acquisition spree — and they’re all over the boardWeWork’s purchase of Chinese co-working startup Naked Hub marks its sixth acquisition in the past eight months. Since raising $4.4 billion from SoftBank — whose CEO has told founder Adam Neumann to grow WeWork “10 times bigger than your original plan” — the company has been acquiring companies at a rapid pace, averaging one about every two months. Most of its deals have been outside of WeWork’s core business of renting out work space, ranging from education tech to apps for construction workers, and have been for undisclosed amounts.
