Student Voting Poll WorkersMilwaukee needs help keeping the 2020 election safe and fair! Historically, 56% of poll workers are over the age of 60. Since many of these individuals belong to high-risk groups for COVID-19, many electoral jurisdictions are facing a critical shortage of poll workers. Poll worker shortages result in longer lines at polling places, voting site closures, and the disenfranchisement of voters across America. Right now, Milwaukee needs young people to step up and protect democracy in our city by serving at the polls on November 3rd. Doing so will allow voting sites to efficiently carry out their function and ensure that the 2020 election is safe and fair for everyone. Serving as a poll worker is also a paid position! Poll workers working a full day shift on Election Day 2020 will receive compensation for their time served. They will also be paid for any required training. Sign up here or learn more about being a poll worker in Milwaukee! The GatheringThe Gathering is still serving. We are preparing, packaging, and distributing to-go meals to all our guests at all our sites.
